Connect to your server
Find your address
- Open your server in the panel. See Open the game panel.
- On the Console page, look at the SERVER ADDRESS card.
- Click Copy to copy the address. It is an IP address and port, or your own subdomain if you created one.
The server must be running before anyone can join: press Start in the Console and wait for it to finish starting.
The first start of a Rust server downloads and installs Rust, so it can take several minutes. Wait until the console shows Server startup complete.
Minecraft Java Edition
- Start Minecraft Java Edition and choose Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server.
- Give it a name and paste the address from the SERVER ADDRESS card into the address field.
- Save, select the server in the list and join.
Wait for Done in the console before you join. For a specific game version, see Minecraft versions.
Rust
- Start Rust and wait for the main menu.
- Press F1 to open the in-game console.
- Type
client.connect address:portwith the values from the SERVER ADDRESS card, then press Enter.
More in the Rust guide.
Use a subdomain instead of the IP
You can create a name such as yourname.srv.fenixhost.net so players do not have to remember an IP and port. Click Add a subdomain on the SERVER ADDRESS card, or go to Settings > Subdomain, enter 3 to 32 characters (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens) and press Create. Then share the subdomain with your players. See Minecraft subdomain.
If you cannot connect
Check that:
- The server is running in the Console.
- You copied the whole address, including the port when there is one.
- Your game version matches the server version.
- On a Minecraft server with a whitelist, your name is on it.
